It’s interesting that it took a Singaporean to note that the Philippines is the Blog Capital of the World. He has also some nice things to say about Filipino friendliness and charm. Well, I’m quite flattered. It’s not everyday that you hear kind words from foreigners. This observation has come to light because of the number of Pinoys using Entrecard.

For those who don’t know it yet, Entrecard was launched in November 8, 2007 where you can drop your card on somebody’s blog in exchange for credits. You can even buy Ad space from other bloggers using 125 x 125 Ad format all in exchange for credits. The idea is like exchanging business cards. You gain credits by dropping your card to other blogs and when bloggers drop their card to yours. Simple but effective method for gaining traffic.

Joanjoyce.com even came up with a list of Pinoy Entrecard users which I think does not even cover half of those using Entrecard. Now, add to that the number of Pinoy bloggers who are not using Entrecard. We could be thousands out there! As what our Singaporean friend has observed, in terms of advertising, this number has a lot of potentials. The number of OFWs all over the world is around 8 million. Imagine if only 10% of that number do blog add to that those who blog in the Philippines, we are indeed a force to be reckon with.

Why don’t we tap our own potentials then? Let’s connect with our fellow Pinoy bloggers out there. Neophytes like me can learn a lot from the seasoned bloggers. I hope I can also share a thing or two. Have your blog listed with Joanjoyce.com so that other Pinoy bloggers know where to drop their cards. Let’s prove to the world that we are indeed not only the texting capital but the blogging capital as well.entrecard.jpg

  3. Glad to learn of this development. I would rather be happy to have this “blog capital of the world” name tag than “text capital.” Texting is so unproductive.

  4. Well, it depends on how you use texting. If it’s for something productive like when you use it for your business then it’s not that bad after all.
