  1. The new Bacolod-Silay Airport is not accessible to anyone who wants flight to Manila. Although they provided a shuttle bus and any transportaions going there. How hard to travel for a long distance from the city? And for sure that placed…can be attacked by the NPA’s and rebels from the mountain area…Hopefully huwag lng sana! I am willing to support and aggree for the reopeing of Bacolod airport..
  2. Thanks for visiting this site Joshua. For now it’s really quite expensive to hire a taxi to the new Silay Airport. It’s was much accessible when the airport was still in Bacolod City. However, Iloilo’s new airport is much farther from their city proper. I’m not quite sure if I want to have the old airport re-opened. It’s really quite small compared to the new one. And can ATO afford to operate two airports for Bacolod? I believe the old airport has better use if it’s turned into a business center.
  3. I don’t think Bacolod has the same volume of air traffic and commuters as Iloilo does. Though the runway in the old airport was indeed a bit small, I think the terminal itself could suffice. And I don’t think the old airport terminal was as rundown as that of Iloilo’s. Don’t shoot me, just an observation.
  4. I just think they should have been more persistent in their call to maintain the old airport before the decision to build that new airport in Silay was made.
